About Julie
Yoga
Julie has been teaching yoga since 2015, originally qualifying on the 200 hour Yoga Alliance Diploma run by Camyoga, Cambridge. She has achieved additional qualifications since that time with Sarah Powers in 2019 on her Insight Yoga Teacher Training incorporating Yin yoga, as a Pre-Natal yoga teacher, and in yoga specifically to support sportsmen and women. In addition she is mentored by Santosha Yoga, Cambridge and commits to regular CPD in the form of short courses on such subjects as physical assists, anatomy study, sadhana, the history and philosophy of yoga, and the study of texts important to the tradition of yoga teaching.
Paddle sport
Julie has been paddleboarding since 2017, initially at Cambridge Sport Lakes where she gained her BSUPA Level one qualification in 2018 and began to teach the “Ready to Ride” and other BSUPA products over the summer seasons. She also holds the Paddlesports Instructor qualification with British Canoe. She is regularly to be found out paddling with friends on local rivers and sometimes further afield more recently exploring the delights of white water paddling supported by experienced and qualified instructors.
In 2019 she qualified with SUPTA (SUP Training Academy) as a Level 3 SUP Yoga instructor to teach SUP Yoga in sheltered water no further than 50 metres from shore. She has taught SUP yoga at Cambridge Sport Lakes since 2019.
In 2022 she qualified as a BSUPA Level 2 instructor with a focus on Race and Tour, and in the summer season is to be found leading small groups to tour locally as part of her work for Cambridge Sport Lakes.
